Product Review from Abaya Addict + a Giveaway

Salam everyone

I have been honored to do a product review for Abaya Addict. Abaya Addict is an online modest clothing company that was established in late 2010 by the designer and CEO Dr. Deanna Khalil. They offer a large variety of abayas, scarves, modest dresses, and many more. They also provide sizing chart, if you figure out your size you can email them. Their customer service is great. All my questions were answer in timely manner. Plus, your order always comes with a tracking number so you know where your order is and when it will arrive.

So, I was sent the gorgeous Power Pastel dress.  The dress is a light polyester material with light pink top and ruffle sleeves and the bottom section is a gorgeous multi-color print. The same fabric is used on a BCBG dress, but of course the Abaya Addict’s Power Pastel dress is modest. Although the dress is long for my height it is nothing my sewing machine can’t fix.

You can wear the dress on a date with hubby, girls’ night out, family reunion, etc. It is light, but it’s thick enough so you don’t need layering, it’s also very comfortable. Here are some pictures for better details.

Product Reviews From Islamically Designed

Our dear friend, Malinda, from Islamically Designed online store has send me some of her products for review. Islamically Designed is a US based online company run by Malinda. They offer varies range of scarves, accessories, abayas, and many more. By varies I mean HUGE so you will always find something you'll love.


The Delivery, Package and Service:
The shipment was so fast. My package was shipped on Monday the 2nd and I recieved it on Wednesday the 4th. Islamically Designed sends ALL US based orders as priority mail with delivery confirmation included, delivery time does vary. For international orders, there are multiple delivery options tracking, delivery time, mailing type (priority or globe express), cost are all based on your custom selection. Communicating with Malinda is great as communication is the key to all successful business. I have emailed Malinda and she emailed me back on time with the answers I was looking for. She also provided a business card with contact information.

I absolutly loved the gift wrapped box. The cost of gift wrap varies because of sizes, but the gift wrapping starts at $5.50 for a small package. I really like the personal touches and the details in this package, the gift wrap option is perfect for gifting someone and even yourself, why wouldn't you give a present to yourself? She sent me two scarves that were wrapped in glittery tissue paper the Indian Summer Hijab (Purple) and the Psychedelic Floral Hijab (Aqua/Turquoise) for review.

Scarf One: Indian Summer Hijab - Purple

The first scarf is the Indian Summer Hijab in purple. This hijab is unique in its own way. It measures around 20 inches x 67 inches. It is 100% silk with gorgeous prints. It kinda like a paisley print on each end with sheer background. Because it is a bit sheer you might need to wear an amira hijab under, but an undercap would work depending on how you style it. I always wear the undercap whether the hijab is sheer or not. I tried this hijab with the undercap, but without the amira and I loved it. I multi wrapped the scarf so the sheer on the outer layers brings out the gorgeous prints in the inner layer. For different styles, you can also wear different colored amira hijabs as a background to give it a different a different look.

Scarf Two: Psychedelic Floral Hijab - Aqua/Turquoise

The second scarf is the Psychedelic Floral Hijab in aqua/turquoise. This hijab is 100% polyester. It has dark green line around the borders and dark rings with light green large polka dots. It also has a large and medium floral prints on each end. It measures around 22 inches x 67 inches. Unlike the Indian Summer Hijab this one does not need undercap or an amira as it is not sheer.

Overall:
I really love Islamically Designed's hijabs. They are gorgeous, light (in weight), smooth, and soft. They are prefect for ALL season. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you make at least one purchase with Islamically Designed, there will be no regrets. If you are interested in these scarves or others please visit their website. Kurdistan vs. Afghanistan, Filastin vs. Palestine

Here is something that happens to me for the longest I can remember. When people ask me what country am I from. I reply that I am not from a country, but a region called Kurdistan. Truthful Kurdistan isn't a country, the Kurds have been under the rulers of Turks, Arabs (Iraqis and Syrians), and Persians for as long as there were Kurds. Even after all those years of continuous ethnic cleansing, genocide, murder  anyone can imagine how it is like under oppressors we still don't have a country of our own. Anyways, back to my original point. So when I tell them a that it is a region called Kurdistan, they reply with either "where is that?" or "Afghanistan?". I don't know how Kurdistan sounds like Afghanistan. Does it sound the same to you? Not to me. This reminds me of something about Palestine. Now, I don't know Arabic, the only languages I know are Kurdish and English, I do know a little Arabic, but if you hear me speak it will be a free comedy show to you because its that bad lol. I do know that Palestinians are Arabs and it's really Filastin not Palestine, so how did Filastin turned into Palestine? Their pronunciation is close not the same, shouldn't it be Filastin as the people there are Arabs?...

Noor Kids For Your Kids

I live in America, if you don't know already and part of living in a country that isn't Muslim can be very difficult in terms of find Islamic things. The one and only thing that is at all Muslims communities through out America are mosques and local bakery selling halal meat. The average Muslim community is not as big like those in Chicago or Dearborn. So, it becomes so important to know or find out that something like Noor Kids. It's not only a benefit to us Muslims or our children, but also non-Muslims because getting educated is the key. Please read The Importance Of Education In Islam.



The Founders of Noor Kids:

When first heard of Noor Kids on Guide US TV, the first Islamic channel in North America, I was very impressed by the work the two founders, owners, and brothers, Mohammed (26) and Amin (23) Aaser, do. Noor Kids was the idea of Mohammed, he "manages the business strategy for Noor Kids. Mohammed recently graduated with a MBA from the Harvard Business School. Prior to his Master’s degree, Mohammed graduated Summa Cum Laude from University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management and majoring in Management Information Systems, Marketing, and Supply-chain Management. Mohammed currently works for a global management consulting firm out of its Minneapolis office." Amin is the author of Noor Kids. "He graduated from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management with Honors and Distinction, majoring in Finance, Marketing, and Supply-chain Management. Who are the Noor Kids?: 

Noor Kids is professionally designed activity books (28 pages published 4 times a year) for children aged 3 to 8, who are growing up in North America. Noor Kids are four main characters - Amira, Amin, Asad, and Shireen. Just look at there artwork mashAllah it's very nice. You can tell the personalty of each character by its artwork. Amira loves yellow. She doesn't mind getting dirty with paint and has a passion for fashion. Amin, obviously loves blue, he is an athlete who is brave. Asad loves green and is very smart. He looks like a scientist.
